  • 🇲🇽 Mexico is brimming with many unique places that you can’t find anywhere else: from cenotes to dreamy falls and steamy hot springs. Skip the touristy beaches — head out there to explore this incredible country! I’ve been living in Mexico with my family now for 3.5 years and have written two guidebooks on Mexico. Along the way, I’ve traveled to many different corners of the country, uncovering spectacular places that have surprisingly remained under the tourist radar. 💦 💦 Grutas Tolantongo — Easily the most photogenic of all Mexico hot springs, las Grutas Tolantongo is a series of hot springs perched on the mountaintop of Hidalgo in Central Mexico. 💦 Huasteca Potosina — This lush and naturally stunning region in the state of San Luis Potosi is studded with aquamarine waterfalls and swimming holes that look absolutely out of this world. 💦 Balandra Bay — This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Baja California, and I dare say, Mexico. The shallow, sheltered bay consists of seven beaches, with waters no deeper than waist level, so turquoise and clear they look like waves of sand. 💦 Isla Holbox — The dreamy island is gloriously car-free and largely undeveloped. Only a small part of the island is inhabited, and even then, it never feels overrun with visitors. No paved roads, no cars, no hassling. Just miles and miles of spearmint water and powder-puff white sand beach. 💦 Laguna Bacalar — This lagoon is a sort of modern-day paradise that every traveler dreams of: with crystal clear, spearmint blue water, and swinging hammocks hanging from overwater palapa. It’s just a 2-hour drive from touristy Tulum, but it cannot be more different. 💦 Hierve el Agua — One of the most unique geological formations I’ve ever seen, Hierve el Agua is a series of natural mineral springs and petrified waterfalls perched on a clifftop overlooking the Oaxaca Valley. ✈️ Save this post for some new Mexico inspo, and if you’re new here, follow @wildjunket for some unique travel destinations.   • 🌍✨ Take Your Kids to the GalĂĄpagos — A Trip They’ll Never Forget! ✨🌍 If there’s one trip every family should take, it’s a trip to the GalĂĄpagos Islands! Last year, we brought our (then) 8-year-old daughter to one of our favorite places on Earth - the GalĂĄpagos Islands - along with my sister and her 10-year-old son. It was so cool to see them come face to face with giant tortoises, snorkeling alongside sea lions, and walking through volcanic landscapes that tell the story of Earth’s evolution. It’s a journey that takes learning beyond textbooks and brings it to life in the most magical way. Our kids saw Darwin’s theory of evolution play out before their eyes, witness conservation efforts in action, and understand ecosystems in a way no classroom lesson could ever teach. They stepped onto islands where blue-footed boobies perform their quirky mating dances, marine iguanas sunbathe on black lava rocks, and frigatebirds soar overhead with their crimson throats puffed up like balloons. Every day is an outdoor science lab, an art class, and a history lesson all rolled into one. My daughter returned home not only with incredible memories but with a deeper appreciation for wildlife, the planet, and her role in protecting it. It’s an adventure that shapes their perspective for a lifetime.   • One of the things we love about San Miguel de Allende is that it’s always celebrating something! 🎉 Almost every month, there is a festival/parade happening, led by music, dance and fireworks. Yesterday it was the celebration of the of El SeĂąor de la Conquista. Every year, hundreds of Indigenous HùähĂąu (Otomi) dancers gather on this day to honor a life-size statue of Christ that has been safeguarded in the Parroquia de San Miguel ArcĂĄngel for over 400 years. The main square of San Miguel de Allende fills with color, movement and sound while dancers move to the deep, steady pulse of drums. 🌍✨ Take Your Kids to the Galápagos—A Trip They’ll Never Forget! ✨🌍 If there’s one trip every family should take, it’s a trip to the Galápagos Islands! Last year, we brought our (then) 8-year-old daughter to one of our favorite places on Earth - the Galápagos Islands - along with my sister and her 10-year-old son. It was so cool to see them come face to face with giant tortoises, snorkeling alongside sea lions, and walking through volcanic landscapes that tell the story of Earth’s evolution. It’s a journey that takes learning beyond textbooks and brings it to life in the most magical way. Our kids saw Darwin’s theory of evolution play out before their eyes, witness conservation efforts in action, and understand ecosystems in a way no classroom lesson could ever teach. They’ll step onto islands where blue-footed boobies perform their quirky mating dances, marine iguanas sunbathe on black lava rocks, and frigatebirds soar overhead with their crimson throats puffed up like balloons. Every day is an outdoor science lab, an art class, and a history lesson all rolled into one. My daughter returned home not only with incredible memories but with a deeper appreciation for wildlife, the planet, and her role in protecting it. It’s an adventure that shapes their perspective for a lifetime.
