  • Cape Town Diaries – Week 5 🎄✨ December is finally here, which means advent calendars, summer sunshine, and all the festive fun Cape Town brings this time of year. We kicked off the week with a beach day with friends and a visit to the Christmas fair, where ice sliding turned out to be a huge hit. The weekend surprised us too — a family hike that turned into a full-on geocaching adventure. Five hidden treasures later, hiking has suddenly become a lot more appealing. 😉 We wrapped up the week with a magical kayak trip in the (very!) icy Atlantic, spotting penguins and dolphins gliding right beside us.   • We’ve been in Cape Town for four months now… and honestly, this has become my favorite city in the world! 
We visited before having kids, but we didn’t expect it to be this perfect for families who love adventure. Between schoolwork, beach days, and trying to keep up with life, we’ve managed to squeeze in some pretty unforgettable experiences. Here’s what’s made our Cape Town family bucket list: ⛰️Abseiling off Table Mountain – My daughter said it was one of the coolest things she’s done! 🏄‍♂️ Surfing in Muizenberg – tiny, gentle waves that are perfect for kids learning to surf. Shame it was windy when we went but we'll be back! 🌳 Acrobranch Constantia – tree-top obstacle courses, zip lines, wobbly bridges… basically kid heaven. 🛷 Cool Runnings Tobogganing – Fast enough to thrill the adults, safe enough for kids. 10/10 family activity. 🦓 Safari weekend – seeing lions, elephants, and giraffes up close never gets old. 🏕️ Glamping in the Karoo – sleeping under the stars in cozy tents, spotting wildlife, and evening braais. 👋 Hi!   • We’ve been in Cape Town for four months now… and honestly, this city has surprised us in the best way.
We knew it would be beautiful, but we didn’t expect it to be this fun, this outdoorsy, or this perfect for families who love adventure as much as we do. Between schoolwork, beach days, and trying to keep up with life, we’ve managed to squeeze in some pretty unforgettable experiences — the kind our daughter still talks about at bedtime. Here’s what’s made our Cape Town family bucket list (and what we’ve loved the most): ⛰️Abseiling off Table Mountain – My daughter said it was one of the coolest things she’s done! We’ve been in Cape Town for four months now… and honestly, this has become my favorite city in the world! 
We visited before having kids, but we didn’t expect it to be this perfect for families who love adventure. Between schoolwork, beach days, and trying to keep up with life, we’ve managed to squeeze in some pretty unforgettable experiences. Here’s what’s made our Cape Town family bucket list: ⛰️Abseiling off Table Mountain – My daughter said it was one of the coolest things she’s done! 🏄‍♂️ Surfing in Muizenberg – tiny, gentle waves that are perfect for kids learning to surf. Shame it was windy when we went but we'll be back! 🌳 Acrobranch Constantia – tree-top obstacle courses, zip lines, wobbly bridges… basically kid heaven. 🛷 Cool Runnings Tobogganing – Fast enough to thrill the adults, safe enough for kids. 10/10 family activity. 🦓 Safari weekend – seeing lions, elephants, and giraffes up close never gets old. 🏕️ Glamping in the Karoo – sleeping under the stars in cozy tents, spotting wildlife, and evening braais. 👋 Hi! Between schoolwork, beach days, and trying to keep up with life, we’ve managed to squeeze in some pretty unforgettable experiences — the kind our daughter still talks about at bedtime. Here’s what’s made our Cape Town family bucket list (and what we’ve loved the most): ⛰️Abseiling off Table Mountain – My daughter said it was one of the coolest things she’s done! A mix of fear, excitement, and the kind of confidence boost you only get when you step out of your comfort zone. 🏄‍♂️ Surfing in Muizenberg – tiny, gentle waves that are perfect for kids learning to surf.
