  • One of the biggest reasons we chose this lifestyle was for our kid to learn outside the classroom. And Cape Town has been incredible for that. 🧭🌍

Here are some of our favorite learning experiences:

🔹 Marine biology at Mouille Point’s rock pools – our kid got hands-on with sea stars, anemones, and the hidden life of the tidal pools. A full-on science lesson with @aonyx_marine_experiences that felt more like play. 🐚

🔹 History at Robben Island – visiting where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned sparked deep discussions about justice and freedom.

🔹 Wildlife at Giraffe House – nothing compares to touching giraffes, snakes, frogs and hedgehogs up close. A wildlife lesson that no textbook can compete with.

🔹 District Six Museum – a powerful, age-appropriate way to start South African history and learn about hardship and resilience.

This is what we love about worldschooling — education doesn’t stop at a desk.📖

What do you think — should kids learn more through experiences like this? Or do you prefer keeping travel and school separate? 👇

  • We’ve been in Cape Town for 2 months now and have settled into a routine. 🇿🇦

Alberto and I keep our mornings focused on work so we can stay on top of projects 💻. I squeeze in a hike once a week to exercise and spend time in nature with friends. I also try to work from cafes and meet friends for lunch whenever I can. 🥗🍷🍴

Once Kaleya is out of school, we always try to spend quality time with her. Whether it’s a park run, a museum visit, or just hanging out together, that balance is what makes this life work for us. 🛝🧭🌍

Does our day look different from yours?

  • 🌎 As digital nomads, we’ve called many places home. But Mexico will always hold a piece of our hearts. 🇲🇽🌮🪅

For 4 years, Mexico shaped the way we live, parent, and travel. It gave us more than memories — it gave us a place that felt like home.

We got to know the people, the culture and different parts of the country: from the pristine Caribbean beaches to the chaotic but soulful Mexico City, the remote areas of Copper Canyon to the jungles of Chiapas. We joined in celebrations that showed my family joy, tradition and togetherness. 🇲🇽✨

It’s where strangers welcomed us like family, where our kid learned the importance of culture and where we discovered the true meaning of celebrating life.

So on this Día de la Independencia, we’re saying gracias, México. For teaching us that family travel isn’t just about seeing the world — it’s about connection, perspective, and shared adventure. ❤️ 🎉🇲🇽

  • If safety is holding you back from traveling with your family, here are 5 of the safest countries in the world ✨

BBC has just published the ranking of the safest countries from the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2025. It measures countries across three domains: societal safety and security, ongoing domestic or international conflict and level of militarisation.

🇵🇹 Portugal – Not only family-friendly, but also one of Europe’s most peaceful. Warm hospitality, low crime rates, and a relaxed pace of life make it a perfect introduction to Europe for travelers.

🇸🇬 Singapore – Ultra-clean, efficient, and secure. Whether it’s late-night street food markets or the MRT subway, Singapore is one of the easiest (and safest) countries to explore with kids.

🇮🇸 Iceland – Number one on the Global Peace Index year after year. With almost no violent crime, breathtaking nature, and a tight-knit community culture, it’s a place where even kids nap in strollers outside cafés.

🇨🇭 Switzerland – Known for neutrality and stability, Switzerland pairs postcard-perfect landscapes with some of the lowest crime rates in the world.

🇫🇮 Finland – Recently ranked as one of the happiest nations, Finland also ranks high on safety thanks to strong social systems, low crime, and a culture rooted in trust.
